A good tool to help you learn the rhythm of the hexameter could be these two chants (one from Virgil and another from Ovid) performed by a choir of a classical academy in Italy:

When you listen, pay a particular attention to how the first long syllable of each foot is emphasized and how it creates the rhythm.
